The Child Care Food Program provides services to child care providers operating in-home day cares. To be eligible for services, day care providers must be licensed by the Department of Human Services or follow Alternate Approval procedures set forth by DHS and the CCFP. Services include reimbursement for meals served to children, nutritional information, yearly training, and monitoring. In the federal FY07, the CCFP sponsored 87 day care providers serving 1404 children. The number of children served and financial reimbursement for each county is listed below. - Service Goals – To ensure children are regularly receiving nutritious meals. To offer financial assistance to encourage affordable day care cost.
- Referral Source – Anyone who is licensed by TDHS to provide in-home day care may apply for the program. Unlicensed childcare providers may also apply as an Alternatively Approved day care home.
- Funding Source – US Department of Agriculture funding administered by the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
- Funds – Federal FY ’04 Total Funding $ 522,375.60.
